Jayam Matric Higher Secondary School, situated in Sankarapuram, Kallakurichi District, is a premier institution committed to providing holistic education that blends academic excellence with moral values. The school creates a dynamic learning environment where students are encouraged to explore their potential, develop critical thinking skills, and grow into responsible global citizens.
Creation of environmental awareness among all sections of our society, particularly school students, is of paramount importance. As today’s children are the future citizens of the earth, there is a great need to inculcate values of respect, love and concern for nature among them. To encourage the same, a list of Green Rules is mentioned below which needs to be followed with care and concern.
“Punctuality is not about being on Time, it’s Basically about respecting your own commitments”. Punctuality is a habit that must be cultivated at all cost. Students must be in school before the first bell. The school gate will be closed after the first bell and habitual late comers will be severely dealt with. No excuse will be entertained in this regard from parents or guardians.
At Jayam Matric Higher Secondary School, we believe that education is a shared responsibility between the school and the home. Parents play a vital role in shaping their child’s academic performance, character, and overall well-being. The following guidelines outline the expectations and responsibilities of parents as key partners in their child’s education.
Ensure your child brings all necessary textbooks, notebooks, and stationery to school every day.
Check your child’s homework, classwork, and progress regularly.
Monitor your child’s daily schedule and ensure that study time is maintained at home.
Discourage possession of mobile phones, gadgets, or valuable jewellery; the school will not be responsible for loss of such items.
Students will not be permitted to leave school during the day except in cases of illness or emergency. In such cases, parents will be contacted by the school.
Submit leave requests in writing, following the school’s prescribed format.
Ensure your child leaves home neatly dressed in the prescribed school uniform, with polished shoes, trimmed hair and nails, and carrying the school ID card.
Provide lunch, water, napkin, and spoon daily, as lunch is to be taken in the classroom. Parents should avoid bringing lunch to school during working hours.
Greet teachers and elders with respect, setting an example for your child.
Instill in your child the habit of speaking in English within the school premises, and encourage practice at home.
Guide your child to use their chosen second language during the respective language period.
Parents may send their children by public or private transport, but must ensure they do not operate geared two-wheelers or drive cars.
Monitor your child’s activities after school and ensure they return home immediately.
Inform the school about any medical conditions and update emergency contact details promptly.
Support the school’s rules on absenteeism — avoid taking children out of school during tests or examinations unless absolutely necessary.
Spend quality time with your child and supervise leisure activities such as television, social outings, or phone usage.
Meet teachers between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. with prior appointment to discuss academic or behavioural concerns.
Avoid engaging school staff for private tuitions, as per school policy.
By fulfilling these responsibilities, parents help create a strong home-school partnership that ensures the holistic growth and success of their child.
